Biography

Rachel Riley is the SCIPP Associate Program Manager at the University of Oklahoma. Ms. Riley's primary role at SCIPP is to conduct interviews and surveys, lead focus groups, and organizing workshops and meetings with the goal of understanding the contexts in which climate information is relevant to decision makers and to promote hazard planning and preparedness. Previously, Ms. Riley studied the influential factors in TV severe weather coverage, including technology, experience, and public understanding, through conducting in-depth interviews with broadcast meteorologists. Ms. Riley earned her Master of Science in Communication and Meteorology (interdisciplinary) from the University of Oklahoma and Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Iowa State University.
