Amanda Lewis (Billiot) is a research associate at Louisiana State University. Ms. Lewis holds a Masters of Science in Geography from Louisiana State University and a Bachelors of Science in Meteorology from the University of South Alabama. Much of her research focuses on synoptic weather classification systems and their application to climate variability studies in the SCIPP region. In addition Ms. Lewis is actively involved in SURGEDAT, working along with Hal Needham to develop statistical methods to estimate coastal vulnerability to surges.
